Because here’s something we’ve learned after years of travelling:

Where the Trail Began
CannaTrailz was born in 2023 on a hostel balcony in Ericeira, Portugal.
After another evening swapping travel stories with backpackers from around the world, one conversation kept coming back again and again.
“What’s the cannabis scene actually like there?”
Finding a genuine answer wasn’t easy.
One website focused only on the law.
Another repeated outdated information.
Forums were full of rumours.
Social media mixed useful advice with complete guesswork.
We realised travellers weren’t just looking for legal information.
They wanted context.
They wanted to know what the atmosphere felt like.
How locals viewed cannabis.
Whether the culture was relaxed or discreet.
Whether a destination felt welcoming or cautious.
Whether that beautiful beach, lively square or mountain viewpoint was simply somewhere people gathered or somewhere travellers should think twice.
So we started building the kind of cannabis travel journal we wished we’d had ourselves.
Our Philosophy
